Citizens Against Government Waste Names Sen. Chuck Schumer March 2024 Porker of the Month

Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) has named Sen. Chuck Schumer as the March 2024 “Porker of the Month”. The senator is recognised for his efforts to push through the “Internet for All Act”, a legislation that CAGW considers as wasteful federal spending. The act aims to expand broadband access in the country, particularly in underserved areas, but CAGW criticises it for its high cost, potential for fraud, and overlap with existing programs. CAGW also criticises Schumer’s support for the “Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act”, arguing that it impedes the free market and increases the power of labor unions.
