At least 100 pro-Palestinian protesters were arrested near the home of US Senator Chuck Schumer in New York. The protesters called on Schumer, as well as other Democratic Senators, including Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema, to end the filibuster and pass the BREATHE Act. The BREATHE Act aims to divest federal resources from incarceration and policing, and instead invest in new approaches to community safety. The protesters also demanded that Schumer stop supporting Israel amidst the recent Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
