US Senators Alex Padilla and Cynthia Lummis, along with a bipartisan group of colleagues, have written to the leadership of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry urging them to address long-term drought in the upcoming Farm Bill reauthorization. The senators are calling for increased funding for water storage and conveyance infrastructure, improvements to existing conservation programs, and the introduction of new initiatives to aid farmers and ranchers in adapting to a changing climate. In addition to Padilla (D-CA) and Lummis (R-WY), the letter was co-signed by Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Michael Bennet (D-CO), John Hickenlooper (D-CO), Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV), and Jacky Rosen (D-NV).
