The bill, named ‘Never Forget the Heroes: Robert Zadroga, Ray Pfeifer, and Luis Alvarez Permanent Authorization of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund Act’, aims to extend the WTCHP’s authorization indefinitely and rectify its budgeting issues. The program, which provides healthcare services to 9/11 first responders and survivors, is set to expire in 2025 and is currently facing a $2.6 billion deficit due to sequestration.
